Oppenheimer & Co., Inc.

Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. carries the weight of an established financial-services name, with private wealth management and brokerage at the center of its identity. By our assessment, that is exactly where it makes sense: it is for clients who want an old-line Wall Street firm rather than a slick app or a mass-market bank. Its strength is the combination of advisory work, investment access, and a long-standing market presence that sounds serious even before any pitch begins. The trade-off is that this kind of firm is typically less everyday and less cheap than a retail investing platform, with more human contact and more formal process. In practice that means calls, meetings, and managed relationships rather than self-serve taps, and the ceiling is the usual one for traditional finance: good service for people with money to place, not broad consumer simplicity. Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. sits much closer to classic brokerage houses than to fintech.
