McQueen, Nancy

McQueen, Nancy is the kind of company name that looks like a person’s name first and a business name second, so it gives away very little about the actual service. By our assessment, that can be a strength for a solo practice or a small professional office, where the person is the main point of contact and the name carries the trust. The obvious limit is that it is almost mute on category: no hint of industry, specialty, or whether the work is hands-on, advisory, or administrative. In use, it feels spare and old-school, which can be reassuring if the audience already knows the person. It sits well below names that describe what they do, and McQueen, Nancy leaves the explanation to context rather than to the label itself.
