Maybank

Maybank is the sort of bank people use for everyday money movement, branch banking, cards, mortgages, business accounts, and the unglamorous work of keeping salaries, bills, and savings in order. By our assessment, it is at its best as a broad retail and commercial bank with a large regional footprint, especially in Southeast Asia. The downside is the usual one for a big bank: plenty of products, plenty of rules, and less of the neat simplicity that smaller digital banks try to sell. In practice that means a mix of branch counters, online banking, card services, and corporate banking that feels built for breadth more than elegance. It sits among the major Malaysian banking groups and competes in the same practical lane as other large universal banks. The country code says Malaysia, and the business fits that home base.
