Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Airlines is a full-service airline for long-haul and regional travel, the kind people use when they want checked baggage, cabin service and a network rather than a bare-bones seat. By our assessment, its main strength is the basic airline job done in a national-carrier style: connecting Malaysia with other destinations and running a recognizable long-distance product. The limit is the one shared by most legacy airlines, namely that schedules, fares and service classes can be less stripped down than low-cost travel. In practice it means bookings, baggage rules and cabin types matter more than they do on no-frills carriers. It sits between budget airlines and the most premium intercontinental brands, with the usual mix of routing and consistency people expect from a flag carrier. The Astrina catalogue records it in Malaysia.
