Makita

Makita stands out because it lives in the world of cordless drills, saws, impact drivers and other tools that need to be picked up, used hard and put down again. By our assessment, it is strong at making compact, reliable power tools with a reputation for broad jobsite use, especially in the cordless line that has made the brand so familiar to tradespeople. The compromise is plain: this is professional hardware, so batteries, chargers and tool families matter, and the kit can become its own small ecosystem. In practice it feels like a serious workshop brand rather than a toy-box purchase, with the usual trade-off of weight, runtime and power depending on the tool. Against budget tool brands it usually sits higher in trust and consistency, while not pretending to be luxury. The Astrina catalogue records Makita in Japan.
