Mainland Consulting Group looks like the kind of firm that sells advice, analysis, or project help to other businesses, and that is as far as the name safely goes. By our assessment, its strength is the plain consulting promise: people who need outside hands on planning or process work can read it as a business-to-business outfit rather than a consumer brand. The downside is just as plain: the name is broad, generic, and does not say what field it knows best, so it gives little sense of specialty. In practice that makes it feel familiar and forgettable at the same time, which is common in consulting but not especially reassuring. It sits in the middle of a crowded category where the real difference usually comes from the people behind it, not the wording on the door.
