Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra is the kind of diversified Indian industrial group people meet through tractors, utility vehicles and other machinery rather than through one neat consumer product. By our assessment, its strongest point is breadth with real industrial weight: it is not just a name on a car, but a builder of farm equipment and vehicles that work in ordinary, hard use. The downside is that a group this broad can feel uneven, because different businesses sit under the same roof and do not speak with one simple voice. In practice it is less about polish than about usefulness, especially in markets where rugged, practical machines matter. Compared with a narrow specialist, it has more reach; compared with a luxury maker, it has much less sheen. The Astrina catalogue places Mahindra & Mahindra in India.
