MODAFL

Defence policy and military logistics sit at the heart of MODAFL’s remit, so this is a government body rather than an ordinary commercial company. It is the commonly used abbreviation for Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics, which oversees defence-related procurement and support functions. Its work serves state institutions and the armed forces, not a public market of individual customers. That makes performance difficult to compare with companies selling visible consumer products: much of the relevant work concerns coordination, equipment and institutional needs. By our assessment, MODAFL has a clear administrative and defence role, but the broad title does not tell a reader how any particular program performs. Its practical scope is defined by state responsibilities, not by a range of products available to the public.
