Lashkar-e-Toiba

Lashkar-e-Toiba is a name that people usually read as belonging to an armed or militant organization, not to a normal company, and that sets the tone immediately. By our assessment, its main force is recognizability within that sphere: the name carries a hard, unmistakable public identity. Its obvious weakness is that this is not a consumer-facing thing at all, so there is no ordinary product experience to talk about and little room for a broad audience. In practice, such a name is encountered through news, politics, and security language rather than through everyday use. It sits at the severe, not the commercial, end of the spectrum, and that makes it a very restricted kind of label. Lashkar-e-Toiba is a stark organizational name with no softness and no retail edge.
