Las Vegas Sands

Las Vegas Sands is a casino-and-resort operator for people who want gaming floors, hotel towers, conventions, and a lot of controlled spectacle in one place. By our assessment, its core strength is running integrated resorts at a very large scale, especially in destinations that mix tourism, meetings, and gambling. The downside is equally plain: the business depends on travel, discretionary spending, and regulation, so it is never a calm little utility company. In practice, this is hospitality with casinos attached, not the other way around. Against ordinary hotel groups, Las Vegas Sands sits much closer to the gaming industry, with resort design and floor traffic matters that simple lodging brands do not have. It is for readers who understand that the rooms, the casino, and the event business all have to work together, and the casino floor is never just decoration.
