LATAM Airlines

LATAM Airlines is the big Latin American network carrier people use for long-haul and regional flying across Chile, Brazil, Peru and beyond. By our assessment, its main advantage is scale: a wide route map, alliance links and the ability to connect a lot of trips through one system instead of a string of separate tickets. The trade-off is familiar for a large airline group, with tight schedules, baggage rules, fare classes and the occasional knock-on effect when a hub runs late. In practice it feels like a standard full-service carrier rather than a niche airline, with loyalty features, connection logic and the usual airline friction at check-in and boarding. Against low-cost rivals it offers a fuller network and more connecting options, while against other legacy carriers it depends on whether the route network matters more than price. LATAM Airlines makes most sense for people who need reach across the region and less sense for someone choosing only on the cheapest fare.
