Infosys

Infosys is the classic Indian IT-services company: the sort of firm enterprises hire for application development, outsourcing, consulting and large-scale systems work. By our assessment, its strongest point is reliability at scale, because that market rewards process, staffing and disciplined delivery more than flash. The downside is also the nature of the business: services work can look interchangeable from the outside, and the company depends on keeping teams, clients and margins in balance. In practice Infosys is the kind of name that lives in project decks, procurement contracts and long implementation cycles rather than in consumer attention. It sits among the global majors of IT services, where it is compared with TCS and Accenture more than with software vendors selling boxed products.
