ING Group

ING Group is the sort of bank people notice through current accounts, mortgages, savings and app-based everyday banking rather than branch glamour. By our assessment, its strength is the plain digital-first Dutch retail-banking model: clean online flows, a broad enough product set, and a name that usually signals mainstream finance instead of a flashy niche. The trade-off is that this kind of banking can feel standardised, with fewer of the polished extras or face-to-face habits some customers still want. In practice, ING Group tends to mean quick, no-drama banking on a screen, with the usual attention to fees, transfers and small print. It sits above local one-bank outfits and below the most specialised private banks, and the Netherlands link is part of its identity rather than a footnote.
