Hari Balasubramanian

Hari Balasubramanian looks like a personal name pressed into company form, which usually means the business is meant to be read through the person behind it. By our assessment, that can work well for a closely held firm or a specialist practice, because it sounds direct and unpretentious. The cost is that it does almost no branding work on its own: there is no clue about the industry, no hint of products, and no quick memory hook. In practice, this kind of name behaves more like an identifier than a market-facing label. Against descriptive company names it is much less informative, though also less noisy. It suits a business that trades on personal reputation or internal recognition, and it does not help much if the aim is broad public recognition. The result is tidy but narrow, and the name remains dependent on context to mean anything at all.
