Groupe Abu Sayyaf

Few company names are as hard to separate from a group’s identity: Groupe Abu Sayyaf refers to Abu Sayyaf, a militant organisation, not an ordinary commercial business. Its public significance is tied to armed activity rather than to products or services for customers. By our assessment, that makes a company-style rating a poor fit for the usual business questions about quality, value or customer support. There is no consumer offering or legitimate commercial strength to assess here in the way one would assess a retailer or service provider. The name is best understood as a label for a militant group, not a brand competing in a normal market.
