Goldman Sachs Bank USA

Goldman Sachs Bank USA carries the weight of a famous investment banking name, but as a bank it sits in a more specific, more institutional corner of finance. By our assessment, it is less about street-level banking and more about the large corporate, treasury, and capital-markets side of the business associated with Goldman Sachs. That focus is its strength: deep financial infrastructure and a serious place in the wholesale side of banking. The trade-off is that it is not built like a friendly neighborhood bank, and ordinary retail customers are not the centre of the picture. In practice it feels like a bank for large, structured money rather than for daily branch errands. Goldman Sachs Bank USA belongs in the upper, more specialized tier of banking, and it stays there by design.
