Gerdau

Gerdau is the kind of steel company that matters most to builders, factories, and anyone who needs long steel products rather than a polished consumer brand. By our assessment, it is especially strong in the making of rebar and other basic steel products, and that puts it close to the real backbone of construction and industry. The downside is obvious: steel is cyclical, energy-hungry, and exposed to commodity prices, so the business can look rough when demand turns. In practice Gerdau is about furnaces, mills, and a product that disappears into buildings, bridges, and machines. Against smaller regional mills, it stands as a major industrial player with broad reach; against specialty steelmakers, it is less about finesse than volume. Gerdau is for people who want to understand heavy industry at its plainest, and not for anyone expecting a consumer-facing brand with a neat story.
