GAC Group

GAC Group is a Chinese auto group, and the people who come to it are usually looking for cars, SUV lines and the industrial side of making them. By our assessment, its strength is scale: it can cover vehicle production, joint-venture experience and the wider machinery of China’s car market. The weakness is that this kind of company can feel less distinct than a single sharp brand, because the group structure spreads attention across several lines. In practice it is a business of factories, platforms and badges on the nose of the car rather than one clean personality. Against smaller local makers, GAC Group sits in the mainstream of China’s auto industry and speaks in that industry’s practical language. The catalogue’s China code matches that position exactly.
