Frontier Financial Corporation is another holding-company style name, built for ownership and structure rather than for a bright public-facing service. By our assessment, it belongs to the side of finance that most people only notice when they are tracing who owns what. That can be useful if you need the corporate layer, but it is not a consumer brand with a clear product on the front. The trade-off is the same as with many such companies: tidy legal form, very little immediate texture. Compared with an operating bank or lender, it sits one step farther back, and that is exactly where it wants to be.
