Figma is the collaborative interface design tool teams reach for when wireframes, mockups, and shared feedback all need to live in one place. By our assessment, its biggest strength is the smooth real-time collaboration: several people can work in the same file without the usual version-branching mess. The downside is that serious use asks for discipline, because a shared design system can get tangled fast if nobody keeps it tidy. In practice it feels immediate and social, more like a live workspace than a file saved on somebody’s machine. Compared with older desktop tools, Figma pushed design work further into the browser and made handoff between designers and developers less clumsy. It is especially good for product teams that prototype often and revise quickly. It is less attractive if the job is offline work, heavy illustration, or a lone designer who wants a self-contained desktop habit. The limit is that the collaboration model only stays elegant when the team keeps its files organized.
