By our assessment, that back-office role is its strength: these firms matter when card rails, account handling, and issuer services need to keep moving cleanly. The downside is that this kind of company is invisible by design, so the experience is all process and little personality. In practice it is the sort of financial name most people only notice when a card works in the background, which is exactly the point. It belongs in the same broad lane as card issuers and servicing platforms rather than ordinary neighborhood banks. The limit is simple: if someone wants a branch on the corner, this is not that kind of business.
