Evin Prison

Evin Prison is a prison, so its whole purpose is custody rather than comfort or public appeal. By our assessment, it is the sort of place people think about only through the justice system, detainee treatment, and state control. The practical strength of a prison is clear enough: it enforces confinement and order. The honest limit is just as clear, because a prison is never about ease, and Evin in particular has a reputation that many readers will already associate with harshness and political detention. In use, that means a closed institution with rules, restraint, and very little room for ambiguity. It sits at the severe end of the correctional category, where humane treatment, security, and rights are the issues that matter most. This is not a place to admire; it is a state facility to understand in terms of power and confinement.
