Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines is the long-haul flag carrier people reach for when they need a big African network with Addis Ababa as a hub. By our assessment, it is strongest at linking Africa to the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and North America, with a route map that is broader than many travelers expect. The trade-off is the usual hub-and-connection reality: it is not trying to be the simplest point-to-point airline, and connections can mean more time and more moving parts. In practice that makes it feel like a proper network carrier, with the value coming from reach rather than polish. Against many regional rivals, it sits near the top of the African market in scale and ambition. It suits people who care more about getting across continents than about a bare-bones direct hop. The Astrina catalogue records ET for it, which is Ethiopia, and that fits the airline’s identity neatly.
