East San Diego Drug Store is the local corner-store version of a pharmacy, the kind people use for prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, and quick health basics. By our assessment, the best thing about a place like this is straightforward access: it can be quicker and more personal than a big chain when the neighborhood matters more than scale. The trade-off is the usual one for independent drugstores, since selection and prices can be less flexible than at larger retail pharmacy chains. In practice it is a place of counters, refill requests, and familiar routines rather than a glossy retail experience. East San Diego Drug Store sits in the old neighborhood-pharmacy category, not in the flashy warehouse end of drug retail.
