EMMET & CO INC.

EMMET & CO INC. has the plain, old-fashioned look of a small incorporated firm, the sort of name that could sit on a door, an invoice, or a legal filing. By our assessment, the main good thing here is clarity of form: it tells you this is a formal business entity, not a casual label. The downside is that it tells you almost nothing else, so the name does no marketing work and offers no clue about the actual line of business. In practice, that means a company people usually deal with through transactions or administration rather than through a strong brand experience. Compared with modern consumer-facing firms, it is much more functional than descriptive, and the “& CO” part signals a traditional partnership feel more than a distinct public identity.
