Dyson

Dyson is for people who want a vacuum, fan, hair dryer or air purifier that feels engineered rather than plain. By our assessment, its big strength is the motor and airflow design: the machines are usually compact, visually distinctive and strong at suction or air movement for their size. The trade-off is the price and the fact that you are often paying for a very particular way of solving the problem, with proprietary parts and a lot of emphasis on style. In daily use Dyson products feel sleek, loud in operation and very focused on the job they were built for. Against ordinary household brands it sits at the premium end, while against true pro gear it is more consumer-oriented than indestructible. The name fits best when design and performance matter together, and less well when the main goal is simply the cheapest tool that works.
