DocuSign

DocuSign is the electronic signature and agreement workflow tool businesses use when paper has become too slow to tolerate. Its best feature is the way it handles signing, routing, reminders and stored copies in one place, so contracts do not need to bounce around inboxes. The downside is that it lives inside a workflow, which means setup, permissions and process design matter more than with a simple signature app. In practice it feels like a serious office system rather than a casual consumer tool. By our assessment, it sits near the top of the e-signature market, though it is more enterprise-minded than lightweight rivals such as HelloSign or Adobe Acrobat Sign. It suits teams that move a lot of approvals and need audit trails, not someone who only signs a form once in a while.
