DMG Mori

DMG Mori is the sort of machine-tool company that matters to factories running CNC lathes and milling centres, especially where precision and automation have to live together. By our assessment, it stands out for combining German and Japanese industrial engineering in one portfolio, which gives it real weight in metalworking rather than generic manufacturing talk. The downside is that this is capital equipment: buying, installing and servicing these machines is slow, expensive work, and the software and maintenance side is not optional. In practice it feels like a supplier for production floors, not a consumer brand, with a strong focus on reliability, control systems and long service life. Against smaller machine builders, DMG Mori sits near the top end of the market, but it is not the casual choice for a workshop that only needs occasional basic kit.
