By our assessment, its genuine strength is industrial scale and strategic purpose: organizations like this are built to make weapons, components, and military matériel under a national framework. The downside is just as clear, because defense industries are closed by nature, hard for outsiders to evaluate, and tied to military priorities rather than ordinary customer needs. In practice that means technical work, heavy oversight, and very little transparency compared with civilian manufacturers.
