DEC (NI)

DEC (NI) is too spare a name to say much more than that it is a company and probably a local or specialist one, not a brand built for the front of a shop window. By our assessment, the main weakness is the same thing that gives it a certain plainness: the abbreviation tells a reader almost nothing about what it actually does. That makes it hard to place against better-known alternatives, because there is no obvious clue whether it is in trade, services, construction or something else. In practice, companies with this kind of name often sit behind the scenes and deal with a specific niche rather than a broad public audience. DEC (NI) is one of those cases where the sensible reaction is caution about certainty, not suspicion about the business itself.
