Communitybank of Texas, National Association is the kind of bank people reach for when they want local banking with a Texas footprint and a community-bank feel. By our assessment, its strength is the familiar mix of branch service, deposit accounts and lending without the stiffness that comes with a giant national brand. The downside is scale: a community bank usually cannot match the product breadth or reach of the biggest banks, and that is part of the bargain. In practice it should feel more personal, more local and less packaged than a mega-bank, which is exactly what attracts many customers to this category. It sits between a neighborhood bank and a larger regional institution, with the emphasis on relationship banking rather than spectacle. The name already tells you this is meant to be a local working bank, not a financial empire.
