China Mobile

China Mobile is the giant mobile network most people think of when they think about Chinese telecom: voice, data, broadband bundles and the physical reach of a nationwide carrier. By our assessment, its big advantage is exactly that network scale, which gives it a very strong place in mobile service and coverage. The trade-off is that giant carriers often feel standardized, with packages and service layers that can be less nimble than smaller rivals. In practice China Mobile is a world of SIM cards, signal bars, data plans and account management rather than anything delicate or boutique. It sits at the heavyweight end of telecom, where breadth matters more than charm. It suits people who want a broad, mainstream operator with deep reach, and not those hunting for the smallest or most personal service.
