Charles W. Gibbs

Charles W. Gibbs is another highly personal company name that works best as a record label, not as a window into the business. By our assessment, it has the plain advantage of being unmistakably a proper name, which is useful when the job is identification. The downside is just as plain: no product, no sector, no service, no hint of scale. In practice, that leaves the reader with a tag and very little else, so any real judgment would have to come from outside the name itself. It sits below company names that describe what they do, and it does not try to do that work. The result is serviceable, but only at the level of filing and sorting.
