CUBAEXPORT

CUBAEXPORT suggests a state-linked export house, and that points straight to trade in Cuban goods rather than to a normal consumer company. By our assessment, the value of a business like this is coordination: moving products out into foreign markets, handling paperwork, and serving as a recognisable commercial gatekeeper. The drawback is that such a name says more about role than about actual merchandise, so outside readers cannot tell whether it covers food, tobacco, or something else. In practice, companies of this kind can be important but impersonal, because they work through channels and agreements rather than a shopfront. It sits closer to foreign trade administration than to retail, which makes it useful in a different way from a brand. The whole point is export, and the name keeps that focus plain.
