CFG

CFG is the kind of short corporate name that can sit on almost anything, from finance to consulting to an internal vehicle, and that is both its strength and its weakness. By our assessment, the benefit is flexibility: it is easy to place on documents, subsidiaries, or a small business that does not need a descriptive title. The cost is obvious too: on its own, it tells a reader almost nothing about what the company actually does. In practice, a bare three-letter name is efficient in filings and inconvenient in conversation, because context has to do all the work. Compared with the longer partner-marked CFG entry, this one is cleaner and even less specific. It is a shell of a name, not a description, and the name itself stops there.
