Bungie

Bungie is a game studio for players who care about shooters that keep going for years, not one-and-done releases. By our assessment, its real strength is the live-service loop behind Destiny: raids, seasonal updates, loot chasing, and the kind of gunplay that fans tend to talk about for a long time. That mix gives Bungie a very specific identity, and it still carries the weight of the Halo era in how people think about its shooting feel. The downside is that this model asks for patience and upkeep; if someone wants a clean campaign that ends, the studio’s current style can feel like a job rather than a visit. In practice, Bungie games are built around repetition, coordination, and returning for the next update, which is exactly why they have such a committed audience. It sits above ordinary action games in how much social structure it expects, but below the flexibility of a full sandbox. The studio’s name still means polished combat first, not gentle storytelling.
