Ben Jen is the sort of company name that could belong to a small founder-led business, a personal brand, or a narrow local operation. By our assessment, the problem is not that it sounds bad, but that it gives so little away: no clue about the field, the scale, or the kind of customer it serves. In use, that means the name has to do all the work on its own, which is hard when the public face is this bare.
