Belarusian Potash Company

Potash is a key ingredient in fertilizer, and Belarusian Potash Company is a major exporter and marketer of the mineral for agricultural use. Its role is to connect production with international buyers, rather than to sell fertilizer directly to household gardeners. That focus gives it a clear place in a supply chain important to crop yields. Potash is a bulk commodity, so trade depends on transport routes and access to markets as much as on the product itself. This makes the company’s business consequential but also exposed to constraints that a consumer-facing seller can avoid. By our assessment, it is a substantial specialist exporter whose importance comes from moving a basic agricultural input at scale. Its public profile is narrower than that of diversified mining groups, and its value is tied closely to potash trade.
