Bank Leumi

Bank Leumi is one of Israel's big universal banks, with the full spread of retail accounts, cards, mortgages and business services rather than a narrow niche. By our assessment, its real strength is scale: it can do the ordinary banking jobs people and companies expect from a major bank. That scale also brings the usual cost, in the form of structure, formalities and a service experience that can feel more institutional than nimble. In practice it is the kind of bank that works through branches, apps and back-office process rather than personality. It sits alongside the other large Israeli banks, so the comparison is with mainstream incumbents, not with new online-only finance. Bank Leumi is for people who want a full-service bank relationship in Israel, and it is not trying to be a small specialist.
