Banco Santander is a global retail bank with a strong European base, and by our assessment it is most useful when someone wants everyday banking that travels well across countries. It offers current accounts, cards, mortgages, loans, and online banking, so it is built for ordinary personal and small-business finance rather than investment glamour. The good part is the breadth of the platform: a large bank like Santander can bundle many services and keep them under one brand. The trade-off is that big-bank processes can feel formal and slow, especially when the customer wants a human answer instead of a system. Banco Santander sits among the big international banks, and it makes sense for people who value scale, branches, and a familiar name more than a boutique feel.
