BBVA

BBVA is a large retail and commercial bank, best known for taking deposits, lending, and running everyday banking through branches and apps. By our assessment, it is most convincing when it leans on that broad banking base and on digital channels that make routine transfers, cards, and account management feel straightforward. The downside is the usual one for a big bank: regulation, low-margin lending, and a business that can feel slow when rates or credit conditions turn. In practice, BBVA is a mix of branch bank and mobile app, so it works best for people who want a full banking relationship rather than a narrow specialty product. Against smaller digital challengers, it brings a fuller balance sheet and wider service set; against the most local lenders, it is more standardized. BBVA is from Spain, which fits its long place in European banking.
