BARROW, GEORGE

BARROW, GEORGE has the feel of a name used for a proprietor, contractor, or small firm, and that makes it more of an identifier than a brand. By our assessment, the main strength is straightforwardness: it is easy to read as a person-linked business record, which helps when the real point is to locate the entry rather than admire it. The downside is just as concrete, since nothing in the name tells a reader what line of work is involved or what kind of customer would deal with it. In practice it is spare, administrative, and not especially revealing, which is typical of names that sit close to the paper trail. It belongs in the category of records that are useful for sorting, not for understanding the business at a glance.
