By our assessment, that kind of company is good when someone wants direct access to markets and a more traditional, human-scale finance relationship. The drawback is the familiar one for securities houses: the work is exacting, paperwork-heavy, and not built for people who want a soft, simplified experience. In practice, it tends to feel formal, cautious, and rooted in process, with the important action happening in the account relationship and the execution around it. It sits beside other securities firms instead of modern retail apps, and that older shape is part of the point.
