Amgen

Amgen is the biotech company people associate with medicines built from research, not with broad consumer products. By our assessment, it is strongest in the hard, expensive path from lab work to therapies for serious conditions, especially in areas like oncology and immunology. The honest downside is that biotechnology is slow, regulated, and dependent on long development cycles, so the work behind the scenes is far less tidy than the final medicine suggests. In practice this is a company of trials, manufacturing, approvals, and careful monitoring rather than a simple pharma shop. Amgen sits near the top end of the pharmaceutical world, where science, patents, and regulatory pressure all matter at once. It is for people who want exposure to advanced drug development and do not expect quick simplicity, and the catalogue places it in the United States.
