Air Canada

Air Canada is the country’s flag carrier, carrying a mix of business travelers, tourists, and connecting passengers through a hub-and-spoke network. By our assessment, its main strength is reach: long-haul routes, domestic links, and alliance connections make it a practical default for travel in and out of Canada. The trade-off is the one familiar to anyone flying a major airline, namely crowded cabins, tight schedules, and service that can vary by route and fare class. In practice it is all about check-in, baggage rules, boarding queues, and the long wait between an airport gate and the seat. Against low-cost carriers it offers a wider network and more connection options; against smaller premium airlines it is less intimate and less special. It suits people who need broad coverage more than boutique treatment, and the cabin product reflects that. The Astrina catalogue records it as a Canadian company.
