Aflac

Aflac is the supplemental-insurance name people know for policies that sit beside a main health plan and help with specific costs. By our assessment, its strength is the plain, narrow job: cash benefits for things like accidents or illness can be easier to understand than a broad all-purpose policy. The downside is just as plain, because supplemental cover does not replace major medical insurance and usually leaves plenty outside its scope. In practice it is paperwork more than drama, with claims, policy language, and fixed benefit amounts doing the work. Against bigger health insurers, Aflac is less about covering everything and more about filling gaps. That makes it sensible for people who want that extra layer, not for anyone expecting one policy to do all the heavy lifting. The Astrina catalogue records it as a United States company.
