Aegon

Aegon is a large insurance and pension group, so it mainly matters to people sorting out long-term financial protection rather than quick everyday banking. By our assessment, its strength is the plain, steady work of life insurance, retirement products and savings businesses, which are easier to understand than many investment-branded rivals. The trade-off is that this kind of company can feel slow and technical, with policies that depend on fine print and patience. In practice, Aegon sits in the dull-but-important corner of finance: not glamorous, but built around obligations that last for years. It is less about flashy products than about administration, claims handling and keeping promises on paper. That makes it more relevant to customers with a real need for pension or protection cover than to anyone looking for a quick, simple app-like experience.
