ASM International

ASM International is one of the names that sit deep inside semiconductor manufacturing, especially in equipment for wafer processing and atomic layer deposition. By our assessment, its strength is the narrowness of the job: it makes specialist tools that matter enormously to chip fabs, and that focus gives it real weight in the industry. The downside is obvious too — most people never encounter it directly, because this is capital equipment for factories, not something seen at a consumer desk. In practice, ASM International is all about precision engineering, long sales cycles, and the kind of kit that disappears into the supply chain once installed. It belongs among the important European players in semiconductor equipment, and not every company in the field has that kind of technical reach. The catalogue marks it as Dutch, which fits its place in the European chip-tool map.
