ABB

ABB is the kind of industrial company that matters to factories, utilities, and big building projects because it sells motors, drives, electrification gear, automation systems, and robotics. By our assessment, its best edge is that it sits across several layers of industrial kit, so it can be part of both the power side and the control side of a site. That reach also makes it a complicated business to understand from the outside; ABB is not a one-product company, and the name covers a lot of heavy equipment rather than a single famous thing. In practice, it is the sort of supplier that shows up in switchboards, control rooms, and production lines, not on the shelf in front of shoppers. It sits above plain component makers and below the very broad industrial conglomerates in everyday visibility. The Swiss country code in the catalogue matches that engineering profile.
