Pitch Perfect 3

Pitch Perfect 3 keeps the same collegiate a cappella machine running, so it mainly rewards people who already enjoy that bright, chorus-heavy comedy style. By our assessment, it works best when the jokes land inside the group dynamic and the music gives the film a clean, polished pulse. The downside is that it leans on a familiar formula, and the third pass naturally has less surprise than the first time around. In practice it feels brisk and glossy, with performance scenes doing most of the lifting between the comic beats. Compared with sharper studio comedies, it is lighter and more specifically tied to its musical ensemble setup. It suits viewers who want easygoing crowd-pleaser energy rather than edge or novelty, and it never tries to be anything more severe than that.
